The Merrie Melodies short, Rookie Revue, directed by Friz Freleng, was released on this date.
This cartoon rarely airs on American television due to heavy wartime references (even though this isn’t a World War II cartoon, being released before the U.S. officially entered the conflict, and has no racial or ethnic stereotypes).
