October 9, 1948 –
The Merrie Melodies short, The Foghorn Leghorn, directed by Bob McKimson, and starring Foghorn Leghorn, Henery Hawk and George K. Chickenhawk, was released on this date.
Foghorn Leghorn kicks over a couple of signs, with one saying Shnook! and the other saying Loud Mouth’d. These signs are similar to the Burma Shave signs that appeared along the rural highways of most of the United States from 1926 to 1963.
