The Merrie Melodies short, I’ve Got to Sing a Torch Song, directed by Tom Palmer, was released on this date.
This is the first Merrie Melodies cartoon in which a character says “That’s all, folks!” at the end. This line had only previously been spoken at the end of Looney Tunes cartoons, while “So long, folks!” had been the closing line for Merrie Melodies cartoons.
