The Looney Tunes short, The Grey Hounded Hare, directed by Bob McKimson, and starring Bugs Bunny, was released on this date.
A tethered, angry racing dog, eager to chase Bugs, ends up digging himself underground. Bugs offers an aside to the audience: “Hey, this kid’s gonna leave his race down that hole!” This was a rare bit of sexual innuendo in a cartoon from director Bob McKimson.
