The Merrie Melodies short, Rocket-bye Baby, directed by Chuck Jones, was released on this date.
One of the few Looney Tunes where Mel Blanc doesn’t do any voices. Instead, Daws Butler, famous for the voices of Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound and other characters in the Hanna-Barbera library, and June Foray, most famous as the voice of Rocky the Flying Squirrel, provided the vocal content of the film. No recurring characters were used. As Blanc’s contract stated that he receive sole credit for voice work, no actors are credited.
