MGM’s Pre-Code musical comedy short, Nertsery Rhymes, featuring Ted Healy and His Stooges opened this date. This was one of five short films the comedy team made for the studio and the first film appearance of The Three Stooges.
This is the first short featuring Curley as the third Stooge since Shemp left due to Ted Healy’s abrasiveness, bad temper and heavy drinking
