One of the most expensive albums ever recorded (but well worth it.)

November 21, 1980
After several years delay and hopelessly over budget, MCA Records released seventh studio album by Steely Dan, Gaucho, on this date.

During the creation of the album, Walter Becker was hit by a car while walking to his apartment, sustaining multiple fractures in one leg and a sprain in the other. During his six month stay at the hospital, he and Donald Fagen continued to write songs via telephone.
