Today is the NYC 54th annual Gay Pride parade, (rain or shine)
making it’s way in some direction (they’ve changed the route yet again) this afternoon, actually commemorates the Stonewall riots, which launched the gay-rights movement.
The official theme for 2024 is “Reflect. Empower. Unite,” focusing on individuals, community leaders, advocates and allies coming together for “Queer liberation and joy.” The Grand Marshals for the 2024 Pride March include DaShawn Usher, Miss Major, Michelle Visage, Raquel Willis, Eshe Ukwell and Baddie Brooks. Again this year WABC NY will be covering the parade live from Noon until 3 PM. It will be a rainy day today, remember to keep and eye out for some pop up thunderstorms.
And do not forget the fireworks over the Hudson River.
